However, the game’s open-world formula, with occasional pacing issues, feels a bit repetitive to some. The integration of Peter Parker and Miles Morales adds depth to the experience, making it a must-play for superhero fans despite minor shortcomings. On PC in 2025, without those advantages and in a disappointingly shaky state, it’s much more difficult to recommend. Where the first game starred Peter Parker, and its spin-off starred Miles, this one has both. Story missions choose for you, but often swap seamlessly between them as the action demands.

Collectibles, photo opportunities, and rather basic street crimes are still here and, despite having a few slightly more interesting quirks this time around, they only very occasionally excite. You’ll regularly be stopping the same getaways with the same few button presses (the button-mashing from previous games is mercifully largely gone) or stopping a break-in by battering the same few goons.
